Rice prices averaged USD 508 per metric ton in November, down 3.0% from October. On 29 November, the commodity traded at USD 516 per metric ton, up 1.8% from 31 October.
Average prices fell for the fifth consecutive month in November on a strong supply outlook: India’s inventories surged to an all-time high in the month following a record summer crop, boding well for global supply. Meanwhile, demand was likely healthy, as in October, Vietnamese export volumes surged nearly 10% year on year.
