Wool prices averaged AUD 1,126 per kilogram in October, up 3.0% from September. On 31 October, the commodity traded at AUD 1,125 per kilogram, up 3.5% from 30 September.
Prices fell for the second consecutive month in August. Persistently weak purchasing activity—due to sluggish global economic activity depressing demand for textiles—and a strong Australian dollar largely drove the decline.
