Angola: Inflation continues to ease in June
Consumer prices in the province of Luanda rose 1.16% in June month-on-month, unchanged from May’s increase. According to the National Statistical Institute (Instituto Nacional de Estadística), the increase was led by higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, with prices for clothing and footwear, and miscellaneous goods and services also up from last month.
Inflation in the province of Luanda fell to 20.2% in June from May’s 20.7%, marking the eighth consecutive monthly decline and the lowest print in nearly two-and-a-half years. Annual average inflation also fell, to 24.9% in June from 25.9% in May, the lowest reading in nearly two years.
