Angola: Inflation eases in January
According to the Statistical Institute (Instituto Nacional de EstadÃstica), consumer prices in the province of Luanda rose 1.1% in January from the previous month, down from December’s 1.5% increase and marking the lowest print since February 2018. All 12 components of the index posted month-on-month increases, led by higher prices for health, and recreation and culture.
Inflation in the province of Luanda moderated from 18.2% in December to 17.9% in January. Meanwhile, annual average inflation continued to fall in January, easing to a 31-month low of 19.7%, from 20.3% in the previous month.
