Angola: Inflation rises to over one-year high in April
Consumer prices increased 2.0% in April over the last month, picking up from the 1.7% rise logged in March. April’s reading was the sharpest increase in prices since September 2018. The result was driven by rising prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. Meanwhile, price pressures for clothing and footwear grew at a softer rate.
Inflation came in at 20.1% in April, above March’s 19.0%. April’s result marked the highest inflation rate since June 2018.
