Angola: Inflation ticks down in June
Consumer prices in the province of Luanda rose 1.1% in June from the previous month, unchanged from May’s reading. According to the Statistical Institute, 11 out of index’s 12 components posted month-on-month price increases, led by higher prices for leisure, recreation and culture; hotels, cafes and restaurants; and miscellaneous goods and services.
Inflation in the province of Luanda ticked down to 17.3% in June, from 17.4% in May. June’s result marked the lowest print since December 2015. Meanwhile, annual average inflation fell from 18.3% in May to an over three-year low 18.0% in June.
