Angola: Inflation ticks up in November
Consumer prices in the province of Luanda rose 1.5% from the previous month in November, edging up from October’s 1.4% increase. According to the Statistical Institute, the print chiefly reflected higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, goods and miscellaneous services, and clothing and footwear.
Meanwhile, inflation in the province of Luanda ticked up to 16.6% in November from October’s near four-year low of 16.5%. This was likely due to upside pressures stemming from a weaker kwanza after the Central Bank floated the currency in October. Meanwhile, annual average inflation inched down to a near four-year low of 17.4% from 17.5% in October.
