Angola: Inflation eases further in July
Consumer prices increased 0.81% in July over the previous month, ticking down from the 0.84% rise logged in June. July’s result marked the weakest monthly price increase since April 2015. The overall increase was, however, spearheaded by rising prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation moderated to an over two-year low of 21.4% in July, down from June’s 23.0%. Moreover, the trend pointed down as annual average inflation dropped to 25.8% in July, from 26.2% in June. Lastly, inflation in Luanda eased to 21.4% in the same month (June: 23.3%.
