Angola: Inflation falls for the ninth consecutive month in September
Inflation came in at 16.7%, which was down from Septembers 18.2%. Septembers result marked the lowest inflation rate since November 2019. Elevated oil prices in recent months have strengthened the kwanza, which kept imported inflation at bay. Moreover, fuel and food subsidies helped reduce domestic price pressures.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed down as annual average inflation cooled to 23.5% in October from 24.4% in September.
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.78% over the previous month in October, easing from the 0.79% increase logged in September.
