Angola: Inflation falls to near four-year low in September
Consumer prices in the province of Luanda rose 1.6% from the previous month in September, ticking up from August’s 1.5% increase and marking the highest reading in 12 months. According to the Statistical Institute, 11 out of the index’s 12 sub-components posted monthly price increases, led by recreation and culture, clothing and footwear, and hotels, cafes and restaurants.
Inflation in the province of Luanda dipped to a 16.5% in September, from 17.9% in August, marking the lowest reading since December 2015. In turn, annual average inflation inched down to an over three-year low of 17.5% from 17.8% in August.
