Angola: Inflation inches down in April
According to the Statistical Institute (Instituto Nacional de Estadística), consumer prices in the province of Luanda rose 1.1% in April from the previous month, down slightly from March’s 1.2% increase. 11 out of 12 components of the index posted month-on-month price increases, led by higher prices for housing, water, electricity and fuels, and leisure, recreation and culture.
Meanwhile, inflation in the province of Luanda edged down for a third consecutive month, coming in at from 17.4% in April, from 17.6% in March. In turn, annual average inflation fell from 18.9% in March to 18.5% in April, the lowest print in nearly three years.
