Angola: Luanda Inflation increases in January
Consumer prices in Luanda increased 2.02% in January over the previous month, ticking down from the 2.20% rise logged in December. The print chiefly reflected lower price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages, and housing, water, electricity and fuel, relative to the previous month.
Inflation increased 30.5% in January, just above December’s 30.4% print. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation came in at 29.2% in January, up from December’s 28.8%. Moreover, average inflation for the year as a whole marked the highest level since 2017.
