Argentina: Consumer confidence dips in October
The Universidad Torcuato di Tella (UTDT) consumer confidence index dipped to 40.2 in October from 40.5 in September, which had marked the best reading since November 2020. Therefore, the index remained entrenched below the 50-threshold that separates optimism from pessimism among consumers.
Consumers grew more pessimistic over their future financial situation, and their willingness to purchase big ticket items also deteriorated. On the flip side, their expectations over the general economic conditions in the year ahead were unchanged.
