Argentina: Consumer confidence drops in March
The Universidad Torcuato di Tella (UTDT) consumer confidence index decreased to 36.9 in March from 39.4 in February. Therefore, the index moved further below the 50-threshold that separates optimism from pessimism among consumers.
Consumers’ expectations over the general economic conditions in the year ahead deteriorated, and they grew more pessimistic over their future financial situation. Moreover, their willingness to purchase big ticket items weakened.
