Argentina: Consumer confidence improves again in August
The Universidad Torcuato di Tella (UTDT) consumer confidence index rose to 39.8 in August from 37.9 in July, marking the best reading since November 2020. However, the index remained entrenched below the 50-threshold that separates optimism from pessimism among consumers.
Consumers were less downbeat over their future financial situation and households’ willingness to purchase big ticket items also improved. Moreover, they grew slightly less pessimistic over the general economic conditions in the year ahead.
