Argentina: Consumer confidence rises in August
The Universidad Torcuato di Tella (UTDT) consumer confidence index increased to 37.0 in August from 34.7 in July. Consequently, the index remained entrenched below the 50-threshold that separates optimism from pessimism among consumers.
Consumers’ willingness to purchase big ticket items strengthened. Moreover, they grew somewhat less pessimistic over their future financial situation and their expectations over the general economic conditions in the year ahead improved.
