Argentina: Economic activity growth accelerates in May
The monthly indicator for economic activity (EMAE) grew 7.4% year-on-year in May (April: +5.4% yoy). The most pronounced increases were recorded in the construction, mining and quarrying and hotels and restaurants sectors.
On a monthly basis, economic activity increased 0.3% in May, following April’s 0.5% decrease. Meanwhile, the trend weakened, with the annual average growth in economic activity coming in at 8.7%, following April’s 9.4%.
