Argentina: Decline in industrial output softens in April
Industrial production declined 16.6% year on year in April (March: -21.4% yoy). The softer drop was due to improvements in the machinery and equipment, basic metals, food and beverages and automotive vehicles subsectors.
On a monthly basis, industrial output rose 1.8% in calendar adjusted terms in April, rebounding from March’s 4.1% fall and marking the best result since April 2023. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 7.4%, down from March’s minus 5.9% reading.
