Argentina: Inflation declines to lowest level since June in January
Consumer prices rose 3.88% from the previous month in January, coming in above the 3.84% rise recorded in December. December’s result marked the most pronounced increase in eight months. In January, the sharpest rises in prices were recorded for communication, restaurants and hotels and food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation came in at 50.7% in January, down from December’s 50.9%. January’s reading represented the weakest inflation rate since June 2021. Annual average inflation rose to 49.3% in January (December: 48.4%).
