Argentina: Inflation soars in March
Consumer prices surged 6.73% from the previous month in March, coming in above the 4.69% rise recorded in February. March’s result marked the most pronounced increase on record. In March, the sharpest rises in prices were recorded for education, clothing and footwear and utilities.
Inflation came in at 55.1% in March, up from February’s 52.3%. March’s reading represented the highest inflation rate since June 2019. Annual average inflation rose to 51.3% in March (February: 50.2%).
