Australia: Consumer confidence rises in October
The Westpac-Melbourne Institute consumer sentiment index came in at 82.0 in October, up from September’s 79.7. As such, the index remained below the 100-threshold, signaling that consumers were pessimistic.
Consumers’ views over the economic outlook in the 12 months and next five years improved in October, as did their views of family finances in the next 12 months.
