Australia: Unemployment rate stable in September
Seasonally-adjusted employment increased by 900 in September, following 36,300 jobs shed in August. September’s result was driven by an increase in full-time employment more than offsetting a decline in part-time employment.
Meanwhile, the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was steady at August’s 3.5% in September. Moreover, the participation rate was also steady at August’s 66.6%, as did the seasonally-adjusted underemployment rate, unchanged from August’s 6.0% in September.
