Australia: Unemployment rate stable in September
Seasonally-adjusted employment rose by 6,700 in September, following 63,300 jobs added in August. September’s result was driven by an increase in part-time employment more than offsetting reduced full-time employment.
The seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was stable at August’s 3.6% in September. Meanwhile, the seasonally-adjusted underemployment decreased to 6.4% in September from 6.5% in August, while the participation rate fell to 66.7% from August’s 67.0%.
