Australia: Unemployment rate unchanged in March
Seasonally-adjusted employment increased by 53,000 in March, following 63,600 jobs added in February. March’s result was driven by increases in both full-time and part-time employment.
Meanwhile, the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was stable at February’s 3.5% in March. However, the seasonally-adjusted underemployment rate rose to 6.2% in March from February’s 5.8%, while the participation rate was stable at February’s 66.7%.
