Austria: Consumer confidence falls in January
Consumer confidence fell to minus 13.0 in January from December’s minus 12.0. As a result, the index moved further south of the neutral zero-threshold that separates pessimism from optimism among Austrian consumers.
The downtick came on the heels of worsening views on households’ financial situation in the past 12 months and the general economic situation in the year ahead. On the other hand, attitudes towards households’ financial situation in the next 12 months improved.
