Austria: Consumer confidence records worst reading since April in November
Consumer confidence came in at minus 16.0 in November, down from October’s minus 12.0. November’s result marked the weakest sentiment since April. As a result, the index remained below the neutral zero-threshold and indicated pessimism among consumers.
The print reflected worsening views on the economy in the year ahead and the labor market; consequently, consumers plan to make fewer major purchases in the next 12 months.
