Austria: Consumer confidence stable in June
Consumer confidence was stable at May’s minus 2 in June, the best print since August 2019. However, the index remained below the neutral zero-threshold that separates pessimism from optimism.
The reading reflected deteriorating views in the financial situation of households in the past 12 months and major purchases planned in the year ahead, while attitudes towards making big-ticket purchases at present turned less upbeat. This offset rosier views on the financial situation of households and the general economy in the year ahead.
