Austria: Consumer sentiment improves in July
Consumer sentiment was at minus 21.0 in July, up from June’s minus 22.0. Thus, the index remained below the 0-threshold separating optimism from pessimism among consumers.
Consumers’ views regarding price developments, their financial situation and the general economic situation over the next 12 months were better in July than in June. Additionally, consumers were more inclined to make major purchases now than they were one month ago. Finally, they were less prone to save now and more inclined to save in the next 12 months.
