Austria: Decline in industrial activity softens in October
Industrial production fell 0.2% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in October (September: -0.7% mom). Looking at the details of the release, output of durable consumer goods swung to contraction, while the production of intermediate goods declined at a sharper rate.
On an annual basis, industrial production rose at a quicker rate of 3.3% in October (September: +4.8% yoy). Accordingly, annual average industrial production growth rose to 8.7% in October (September: +7.7%), signaling an improving trend in the industrial sector.
