Austria: Decline in industrial output softens in June
Industrial output fell 0.7% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in June, which was a smaller drop than May’s 1.4% decrease. Looking at the details of the release, durable consumer goods output bounced back in June, and output of both capital goods and non-durable consumer goods contracted at a softer pace. That said, intermediate goods output swung into contraction.
On an annual basis, factory output dropped 4.0% in June, which was below May’s 3.3% fall. Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 2.5% in June, down from May’s minus 2.3%.
