Austria: Industrial activity dips in September
Industrial output slid 1.6% in month-on-month seasonally-adjusted terms in September, which contrasted August’s 4.1% increase. The reading came on the back of weaker durable consumer goods output. In addition, non-durable consumer goods production contracted.
On an annual basis, industrial output rose at a softer pace of 6.8% in September (August: +9.4% yoy). Meanwhile, the trend improved modestly, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at 8.8% in September, up from August’s 8.5%.
