Austria: Industrial output expands at fastest pace since June 2020 in February
Industrial output increased 5.7% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in February (January: +2.0% mom). February’s result marked the best reading since June 2020. Looking at the details of the release, durable consumer goods production increased at a slower rate in February, while capital goods output rebounded.
On an annual basis, industrial output rose 8.6% in February, notably above January’s 1.1% expansion and marking the best result since May 2022. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production was steady at January’s 5.7% in February.
