Austria: Despite moderation, industrial production grows robustly in February
Industrial output expanded 5.1% year-on-year in February, coming below the prior month’s revised 6.1% increase (previously reported: +6.6% year-on-year). A rebound in the manufacturing and energy sectors was offset by a deterioration in the mining sector, which contracted at a sharper pace than the previous month.
On a month-on-month seasonally-adjusted basis, industrial production swung back to expansionary territory in February, contrasting the prior month’s deceleration. In February, industrial production expanded 0.3% mom, up from the previous month’s revised 0.7% contraction (previously reported: -1.5% month-on-month).
Finally, annual average growth in industrial production inched up to 5.2% in February, coming in above the prior month’s 4.9%.
