Austria: Industrial production picks up in July
Austrian industrial production rose 0.3% month-on-month in July, down from a revised 1.1% monthly increase in June (previously reported: +0.5% month-on-month). The latest outturn was driven by robust output growth in energy generation, durable consumer goods and non-durable consumer goods. Capital goods production, meanwhile, declined sharply.
Compared to the same month in the prior year, industrial output rose 2.3% in July, up from a revised 2.1% increase in June. Annual average industrial production growth, however, edged down to 4.1% from 4.3% in June.
