Austria: Harmonized inflation declines to lowest level since June 2022 in March
Harmonized inflation fell to 9.2% in March, following February’s 11.0%. March’s reading marked the lowest inflation rate since June 2022. The result was driven by moderating price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages, and housing and utilities.
Annual average harmonized inflation edged up to 9.9% in March (February: 9.7%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 9.2% in March, from the previous month’s 10.9%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.56% from the previous month in March, slowing down from the 0.82% rise seen in February.
