Belarus: Industrial production swings to contraction in October
Industrial production fell 0.3% on an annual basis in October, contrasting a 0.7% year-on-year rise in September. Mining and quarrying led the downturn, followed by manufacturing; both sectors contracted in the month. The electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioning supply sector grew only mildly, while the water supply sector logged the fastest expansion.
Lastly, annual average growth in industrial production came in at 0.9% in October, down from 1.1% in September, marking the lowest reading since February 2017.
