Belarus: Industrial output moderates to near two-year low in January
Industrial production growth decelerated to 0.9% year-on-year in January, down from December’s 1.3% expansion, logging the lowest reading in almost two years. In turn, annual average growth in industrial production decreased to 5.0% in January, from 5.7% the previous month.
The weaker annual print reflected flat growth in manufacturing activity and a contraction in water supply; waste management and remediation activities. Meanwhile, mining and quarrying, together with electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning supply, increased on an annual basis.
