Belarus: Inflation comes in at a five-month high in June
Inflation came in at 5.8% in June, which was up from May’s 5.7%. June’s result was the highest inflation rate since January 2023. Looking at the details of the release, faster price pressures for clothing and footwear, as well as food and non-alcoholic beverages, drove the increase, outweighing softer transportation price growth.
Accordingly, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 4.7% in June (May: 4.4%).
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.60% in June over the previous month, accelerating from May’s 0.10% rise. June’s uptick marked the highest reading since February.
