Belarus: Inflation declines to eight-month low in July
Inflation ticked down to 5.5% in July, easing slightly from June’s 5.8%. July’s result marked the weakest inflation rate since November 2023. Looking at the details of the release, the moderation was broad based, with softer price pressures noted for transport, clothing and footwear, food and non-alcoholic beverages plus housing and utilities.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation rising to 4.9% in July (June: 4.7%).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.03% in July over the previous month, coming in below June’s 0.60% increase. July’s result marked the weakest reading since August 2023.
