Belarus: Inflation moderates in April
Consumer prices rose 0.3% over the previous month in April, notably down from the 0.8% increase recorded in March. The rise was led by an increase in prices for services and food, while prices for non-food goods remained nearly stable from the previous month. Meanwhile, core prices, which exclude volatile components, ticked up 0.2% in April.
Inflation slowed to 5.0% in April, down from an eight-month high of 5.4% in March. In turn, annual average inflation edged down marginally from the previous month’s 5.4% to 5.3%, marking more than three years of falling annual average inflation.
