Belarus: Inflation rises in March
Consumer prices rose 0.9% over the previous month in March, largely in line with February’s 1.0% increase. The result was chiefly led by higher prices for services and non-food goods, with prices for food goods increasing more modestly.
Inflation rose to 4.9% in March, from a 19-month low of 4.4% in February. As a result, it moved closer to the Central Bank’s 5.0% target. Meanwhile, annual average inflation ticked down 5.3% at the end of Q1, from 5.4% in February.
