Belarus: Inflation comes in at highest level since March in December
Inflation rose to 5.8% in December, following November’s 5.4%. December’s result marked the highest inflation rate since March. Looking at the details of the release, price pressures for food and for housing and utilities gathered pace, while transportation prices rose at a softer pace.
The trend pointed down, with annual average inflation coming in at 5.2% in December (November: 5.8%).
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.90% over the previous month in December, accelerating from November’s 0.70% increase. December’s figure marked the highest reading since February.
