Belgium: Industrial output rebounds in July
In July, industrial output rose 1.4% from a month earlier in seasonally-adjusted terms, rebounding from June’s revised 2.6% monthly drop (previously reported: -2.7% month-on-month). July’s increase mainly reflected the robust expansions in production in the manufacturing and water collection, treatment and supply sectors.
In annual terms, industrial output climbed 3.3% in July, contrasting June’s revised 1.5% decline (previously reported: -2.3% year-on-year). Meanwhile, annual average industrial output ticked down from 2.1% in June to 2.0% in July, the lowest reading in over two years.
Beginning in March, the industrial production index was rebased using 2015 as its reference year (previously: 2010), explaining any variation from earlier releases.
