Belgium: Industrial output growth dips in May
Industrial output rose 2.6% year on year in calendar-adjusted terms in May (April: +2.8% c.a. yoy). May’s slowdown was largely due to a deterioration in manufacturing output growth. In contrast, energy production rebounded.
Meanwhile, the trend improved sizably, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 6.6%, up from April’s minus 7.2%. On a monthly basis, industrial output rose 2.5% in seasonally adjusted terms in May, notably above April’s 0.3% expansion.
