Belgium: Harmonized inflation rises to highest level since February 2023 in June
Harmonized inflation increased to 5.4% in June, which was up from May’s 4.9%. June’s figure was the highest inflation rate in over a year. The reading was driven by rising growth in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, recreation, hospitality, and housing and utilities.
Additionally, annual average harmonized inflation rose to 2.2% in June (May: 1.9%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 3.7% in June from May’s 3.4%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.44% in June over the previous month, picking up from May’s 0.20% increase. June’s result marked the highest reading since February.
