Belgium: Harmonized inflation holds stable in May
Harmonized inflation was stable at April’s 4.9% in May. Looking at the details of the release, housing and utilities prices rose at a quicker pace in May compared to the previous month, while price pressures for transportation eased.
Annual average harmonized inflation rose to 1.9% in May (April: 1.7%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation was stable, coming in at April’s 3.4% in May.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.20% over the previous month in May, contrasting the 0.25% fall seen in April.
