Brazil: Business confidence drops in March
Business sentiment in Brazil weakened at the end of Q1, with the Getulio Vargas Foundation’s (FGV, Fundaçao Getúlio Vargas) business confidence index falling to 97.2 points from 99.0 points in March. The index lies below the 100-point threshold and signals pessimism among firms.
According to the FGV, the deterioration was broad-based, with firms’ assessing both the current and future economic situation more weakly.
