Brazil: Consumer confidence improves but remains in negative territory in April
The seasonally-adjusted consumer confidence index published by the Getulio Vargas Foundation rose to 72.5 in April from March’s 68.2. As a result, the index moved closer to the 100-point threshold, but still indicated pessimism among consumers.
The headline print reflected an improvement in consumers’ views of the current economic situation as well as less pessimism regarding the future economic situation.
