Brazil: Consumer confidence pulls back in August
The seasonally-adjusted consumer confidence index published by the Getulio Vargas Foundation came in at 80.8 in August, following July’s 82.2 in July. As a result, the index remained below the 100-point threshold, indicating pessimism among consumers.
August’s dip came on the back of consumers’ gloomier assessment of current conditions, while their views on the future economic situation improved somewhat.
