Brazil: Economic activity rebounds in April
In April, economic activity expanded 0.5% from the previous month in seasonally-adjusted terms, according to the Central Bank’s monthly indicator for economic activity (IBC-Br, Indice de Atividade Economica do Banco Central). The result contrasted March’s revised 0.6% contraction (previously reported: -0.7% month-on-month).
On an annual basis, economic activity grew 3.7% in April, contrasting March’s 0.6% fall. Annual average growth in economic activity rose from 1.1% in March to 1.5% in April.
